Performing & Visual Arts Education
.........a Franklin County, Missouri and surrounding area non-profit, performing and visual arts education center, committed to providing every person the possibility of exploring the arts through a wide variety of programming. Classes are taught by experts in each discipline, either through group instruction, private instruction, workshops, or through our After-School Arts program, offered on-site at local schools. It is our goal to provide this experience regardless of ability or socio-economic status.
Performing Arts Classes
Theater Production- Instruction for stage acting, stage design, costume & makeup design, etc. Acting and improvisational exercises help prepare students for skits, monologues, and small productions performed twice per year. Beginners and intermediate student classes available.
Dance Instruction- Classes available, for all ages and abilities: classical ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, adult power tap and adult ballet. It is our goal to provide the necessary skills and training for those who desire developmental classes that emphasize technique and wish to further their dance education.
Group Music Instruction- Group lessons are available for guitar, keyboard, voice and more. Groups are small and taught in a classroom setting.
Visual Arts Classes
Art Instruction- Classes are taught in a classroom or in a workshop setting. Instructors provide students the opportunity to learn a skill within the visual arts field, while acquiring an appreciation for the art they are creating. Art classes are taught by artist Charissa Coyle, focusing on a variety of themes, each using different mediums, including pencil drawing, painting, and pen/pencil with a watercolor wash.
Creative Movement - Educationaly kinesilogy taught using tumbling, music, dance and creative movement as a foundation. Fundamentals of balance, rhythm, music and motion will be taught. Creative movement provides the foundation for future study in the areas of dance, music, tumbling, and theater.
Tumbling & Power Tumbling - Developmental tumbling instruction for children ages 3 through adult. Classes and workshops are also offered. Skills are taught in a developmental sequence according to each person’s ability level. Gymnastic floor skills, tumbling, balance beam, and early bar skills are taught.
Education Assistance
Special Needs (social skills, speech/language development, private tutoring) - This program consists of a variety of classes that target children and adults with special needs, offering a unique and specialized program for each need. Classes, private therapy and workshops are offered by trained professionals and certified Speech/Language Pathologists (CCC-SLP).
